Qualified Transportation Plan....

We are pleased to announce that we are now offering a Qualified Transportation and Benefits Plan to our participants.  There are two types of plans that participants may elect: a Transit Plan and/or Parking Plan.  These plans, under Section 132 of the Internal Revenue Code, permit participants who have elected this benefit to pre-tax deductions.  Participants may use the account to receive reimbursement for qualified commuter expenses, such as parking and transit passes.

The Qualified Transportation Plan enables participants who live in areas where mass transit or parking costs are used on a regular basis for commuting to and from work to be reimbursed for these expenses from a pre-tax account, which increases the participant's disposable income.

Learn about the two types of plans below.

Note:  The Qualified Transportation and Benefits Plan is offered through employers only.  If you are interested in participating in a Qualified Transportation and Benefits Plan, please speak with your HR Department.

You can also Contact SDSA about this exiting new option for your Benefits plan by calling our Customer Service at 1-888-698-1429 or emailing sales@selectdataservice.com.

Qualified Transit Plan....

The Qualified Transit Plan allows participants to receive reimbursement from a pre-tax account for transit expenses such as tokens, vouchers, fare cards, or similar items that allow an employee to use mass transit facilities or van pooling service offered by an outside vendor.  Expenses incurred by dependents are not reimburseable.  Participants are responsible to pay for the expense up-front and request reimbursement by completing a Claim for Reimbursement Form and include appropriate documentation for the expense.

Participants may not be reimbursed from contributions made to a Qualified Transit Plan for parking expenses.

Qualified Parking Plan....

The Qualified Parking Plan allows participants to receive reimbursement from a pre-tax account for parking expenses such as expenses paid by the employee to park close to the employer's business premises or at a location from where the employee commutes to work.  Parking garages, parking meters, and parking near mass transit stations are all included in this plan.  Expenses incurred by dependents are not reimbursable.  Participants are responsible to pay for the expense up-front and request reimbursement by completing a Claim for Reimbursement Form and include appropriate documentation for the expense.

Participants may not be reimbursed from contributions made to a Qualified Parking Plan for transit expenses.
